Mark Akers, is the founder and director of OASIS, which provides transition help for refugees from war-torn countries. Many of these immigrants left a sewing machine behind and would like to have one now. Volunteers give them a check-over, oiling, cleaning and minor repairs before giving them out. Each sewing machine comes with a pictorial guide (no language barriers) for the new owner to learn how to use it. If you have a sewing machine to donate, please contact Colette at 636-293-6665 or busyhands4all@gmail.com.
